ROCK N ROLL RESCUE DONATES 5 INSTRUMENTS TO STUDENTS AT ALLEGRO CHARTER SCHOOL OF MUSIC


CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Rock and Roll Rescue, a Charleston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting music education and accessibility, proudly donated five new instruments to students at Allegro Charter School of Music on May 13, 2026.

The instruments were presented to students who previously did not have access to take-home instruments, creating new opportunities for continued learning, practice, and musical growth beyond the classroom.

The event began with a warm welcome from the school’s music director, followed by a student performance of “Un Poco Loco,” which set the tone for an emotional and inspiring afternoon celebrating music, education, and community support.

Musician & community leader, Charlton Singleton presented the instruments to the students as family members, siblings, teachers, mentors, and supporters gathered to cheer on the recipients during the special moment.

Board members of Rock and Roll Rescue were also present for the occasion, including founder Bunky Odom, who spent time speaking with students about their musical goals, aspirations, and dreams for the future.

“This was an emotional event, ” said Nancy Wagoner, a board member of Rock N Roll Rescue.

Rock N Roll Rescue continues its mission of supporting young musicians throughout the Charleston area by providing resources, instruments, and opportunities that make music more accessible to the next generation.
